Summary
There are many different methods that can be used in Kaupapa Māori methodology, of which only some have been listed here. It is therefore recommended that you do further reading into the methods that you wish to use in your own research project.
Important considerations to take into account when choosing your methods are:
- Your Research Question – What are you wanting to know?
- Which method will best be able to help you answer that question?
- Your methodology – What methods are best suited to my methodology?
- Cultural Context – How will the research participants respond to these methods?
- Analysis – What form of analysis will I be engaging in if you choose a particular method?
